The day we ended up wandering into Scotland without knowing it!! We decided to take an impromptu trip to Northumberland without really looking at the map in too much detail and hadn't clicked how far north we had gone, and only realised that we had walked along the Penine Way just north of Alwinton when we got back to the car park. It reminded us a lot of the Peak District, but on a grander scale.
